Default 2nd Annual SEFB Tail Of The Dragon Run UPDATED Motel Info

Okay guys, as you know we called an audible last minute and decided to stay at Fontana Village instead of the Sleep Inn in Bryson City. Fontana Village puts us right in the middle of the action! Troy has stayed there a couple of years with the Saleen club and really likes it. If it doesn't work out, we can always switch back in 2017.

Below is the information on it, thanks go to Troy for doing all the ground work on getting it set up.

Ok guys, so we are locked and loaded at Fontana Village for our 2016 Dragon Run with a block of 15 rooms. If for some reason we blow through these I'm sure we can tack on some more.

Dates are March 25th and 26th(Fri and Sat nights)
Fontana Village has the Main Lodge, Poolside Cabanas, Garden Units and separate Cabins
Our 15 rooms are in the Main Lodge because they all have Wi-Fi
The room setups are 10 2-Queen Rooms and 5 1-King Rooms(but this mix can be modded as needed)
Regular rates for these rooms range between $109 - $139 per night, but our rate is $89 plus a Resort Fee
The Resort Fee is a daily activity fee that gives guests open access to Village amenities like, complimentary coffee and cookies in the main lodge, putt-putt, disc golf and complimentary Wi-Fi
Standard Resort Fees are $13.95 per room, per night plus $3.95 for each guest over 2 in each room...however our Group Coordinator reduced it down to a flat $10 per room, per night.
    Then of course there's Uncle Sam's cut(12.75%).

    So each night will be:
    Room - $89.00
    Tax - $12.62
    Resort Fee - $10.00
    Total per night $111.62

Now I feel compelled to justify the extra $25 per night over last year's Sleep Inn in Bryson City:

    - Fontana Village is a self sufficient complex with it's own general store, gas station, lodging and dining hall.
    - The accommodations are certainly an upgrade.
    - It's proximity to the D@mn and The Dragon is so close it's ridiculous. Plus the road its on Hwy 28 is awesome...it's like turn out of the Village and immediately start turning the steering wheel back and forth!!
    - The atmosphere with fellow car and motorcycle enthusiasts all there for the same reason is electric...I liken it to the air at a race track to be honest!!
    - The nightly fire pit is awesome and the club is picking up the $50/night fee to reserve it for just us.
    - We should still be able to do our Saturday night feast

Call and ask to reserve a room from the Southeastern Foxbodies block and of course those looking to bunk should grab the 2-Queen beds setups first(which is why there's more of those)

The deposit is one night's stay so have a credit card ready for the $111.

Okay guys so that's it! Once you've booked your room, please post it in here so we can monitor our about of rooms and adjust as needed! Also if your staying with someone, bringing three people, etc, etc, post that too so we can get a solid head count going. Gonna be here before you know it!

If anyones on the fence about this you should go ahead and come out. Definitely a blast on the roads and great time hanging out with fellow SEFB members.

I am sooooo bummed as it looks as if I can't make this run with you guys!! My kid's spring break was moved up along with Easter this year and I didn't realize the overlap with our Dragon weekend. We had planned to take them to D.C. and the Mrs has booked resy's...so unfortunately I had to cancel mine with SEFB!

I really wanted to watch you guys experience Fontana Village for the first time!

Have a blast and be safe and I'll continue following along.

PS If something happens to our D.C. trip, somebody better save me floor space for an air mattress!!!

I said I was bringing him....did not say anything about him going back! The 01 is going down but the first phase may be done by the end of March if the temps ever get above freezing.
If not I have a certain back-up in mind!

Unfortunately I can't go this year. My set up is much more geared towards this event than last year too. Can't wait to see some video!
